El Paso is the West Texas municipality with a medium sized population but the second largest land area of any U.S. city. The city lies across the co. Together with Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua across the Rio Grande from in Mexico, El Paso forms the largest binational metropolitan area on the U.S.-Mexican border. Intimate connections between the two cities is long standing.
