Earth Orbit

From dKosopedia

Earth orbit is home to communications satellites, weather satellites, the International Space Station, the Hubble Telescope, and occassional shuttles or rockets.

So far, Earth orbit's military uses have been limited to spy satellites. However, the Bush Administration has created a Space Command in the Department of Defense based in Colorado which would militarize space and is considering Earth orbit based weapons systems such as the "Rods from God".

This would also be the location of any Solar Power Satellites, if they were ever built and launched. More practical issues of Space Policy involve Earth orbit.
