Early voting
From dKosopedia
Early voting became prevalent in 2006.
Arguments in favor of early voting:
- it reduces the demand for resources on Election Day
Arguments against early voting:
- it reduces the time available to fix ballot and machine problems
- it eliminates the voter's ability to make a decision based on information that surfaces late in a campaign
- early vote counts provide information that makes it easier to rig Election Day tabulation
- it's harder to monitor early voting, which is spread out over a period of time, than it is to monitor on Election Day alone
