Donald J. Cazayoux, Jr is a Louisiana Democratic politician. He is currently the U.S. House Representative from the 6th district of Louisiana. He was a former Louisiana state representative.

Background

Cazayoux is from New Roads, Louisiana. He is Roman Catholic. He earned his Bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University and a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University. After finishing his studies, Cazayoux practiced law and then became a prosecutor for Pointe Coupee Parish.

Cazayoux was elected to the Louisiana House of Representatives representing Pointe Coupee Parish (18th district) in 1999 and has served there since. He is also a former President of the Lions Club. He has announced his candidacy in the forthcoming special election to fill Louisiana's 6th congressional seat which has been vacated by retiring congressman Richard Baker.
