Dissensus

From dKosopedia

Dissensus is a word coined as an opposite positive to consensus. It is used to denote a view held or hoped to be held by a significant minority that is counter to a view felt to be held weakly or illogically or irrationally by the majority as a result of groupthink or brainwashing.

Ethical trolling is the effort to promote a dissensus into a consensus by engaging in what may be controversial discussions that are countered not by rational argument, but by appeals to tradition or large consensus.

see Wikipedia for Wegener, Galileo, Prusik, continental drift theory, heliocentric theory, prion for understanding of how this works, and the problems with groupthink.
