Deval Patrick

Deval Patrick (D) is the Governor of Massachusetts. He was first elected Governor in 2006.

Patrick was born in 1956, on the south side of Chicago. He won a scholarship to Havard College, becoming the first in his family to attend college. He received a law degree from Harvard Law School.

In 1994, President Bill Clinton appointed Deval Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights, the nation's top civil rights post. After returning to private practice, he became an executive of the Coca-Cola corporation.

Deval and his wife Diane have two daughters.
