Background

From 1985 through 1991, Dennis Miller was a comedian on Saturday Night Live. After he left the show, he hosted Dennis Miller Live, a weekly talk/comedy show. It ran from 1994 through 2002 and won multiple Emmy awards. Claimed to have transformed into a conservative after 9/11, has gone from being extremely critical of Republicans to announcing he will not speak out against George W. Bush. Once rumored to be considering a run against Senator Barbara Boxer, he is currently the host of Dennis Miller on CNBC. In spite of having to pay audience members to attend tapings, and some of the worst ratings on cable TV, Miller's show was renewed for a second season in September 2004.
