David Boren

David Lyle Boren a conservative Democrat, and former one-term Governor of Oklahoma (1975-1979) and former U.S. Senator from Oklahoma. He was first elected to the Senate in 1978, and reelected in 1984 and 1990. In 1994, Boren resigned to serve as President of the University of Oklahoma.

Boren was a member of the Oklahoma State house of representatives from 1967-1975. He is the father of Dan Boren.
