Cold Evil

From dKosopedia

Cold Evil is a term coined by Jeremy Rifkin in his 2004 book "The European Dream: How Europe's Vision of the Future is Quietly Eclipsing the American Dream." On page 366 of the book Rifkin defines Cold Evil as "actions whose effects are so far removed from the behavior that caused them that no causal relationship is suspected, no sense of guilt or wrongdoing is felt, and no collective responsibility is exercised to punish the errant bahavior." Rifkin uses the decision to drive an SUV as an example.
