Chaka Fattah

Chaka Fattah (born November 21, 1956, Philadelphia, PA), a member of the Democratic Party, represents the 2nd Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives since 1995.
He ran for mayor of Philadelphia, but lost the primary, see U.S. mayoral elections, 2007.
Fun Facts!
- Made his first bid for Congress as an Independent (as did John White), when local Dems put up Lucien Blackwell as the nominee in the special election to fill the seat vacated by retiring House Whip Bill Gray. Fattah lost to Blackwell, but defeated him in a primary three years later and won the seat.
