Sounding Like a Democrat

Rather than engage in fear-mongering like his counterpart in the 2nd District of Idaho, Rep. Otter sounded more like a Democrat when commenting on revelatiuons of the second Bush administration's unconstituional warrantless surveillance of Americans by the NSA. "The Founders envisoned a nation where people's privacy was respected and the government's business was open. These actions turn that vision on its head. If the government is willing to bend the rules on this issue, how are we supposed to believe it won't abuse the powers granted in the Patriot Act." Source: Christopher Smith. "Idaho Lawmakers Mixed Whether Bush's Domestic Spying Justified." The Associated Press State and Local Wire. December 23, 2005. How indeed?
