America Coming Together

America Coming Together (ACT) is a 527 progressive political organization whose mission in the 2004 presidential election was to mobilize a massive GOTV iniative in the 17 battleground states. They organized tens of thousands of volunteers in each of the key states and had a goal of having a face-to-face conversation with 10 million potential voters.
The initial funding for ACT, estimated at $10M, came from George Soros who publically declared his intention to help defeat George Bush.
