Talk:The dKosopedia Category Project
This really needs help. I've finished cleaning up the 0-9's, and I'm working on the a's. I think legislation should be piped by year. Any other ideas? Chadlupkes 17:05, 11 July 2006 (PDT)
- I feel your pain. Looking over 2004 and 2005 and current-year legislative issues, I threw my hands up in the air. It's so current events, and so quickly obsolete, and unless standards are enforced at the beginning about leaving what's gonna most likely be an abandoned stub, I'm coming around to the idea that current events articles are under death sentence unless put into a broader historical context that makes sense a few years down the road. It's up to the editors who created or added to the articles to grant them reprieve. In other words, many many articles get deleted as a matter of course a few months down the road, as a matter of standard policy: we need a pretty template for this, maybe a headsman carrying an axe with a caption (something like) This article is slated for automatic deletion /n/ months from now unless put into a form suitable for future readers' edification.
- After we're done filling in the categories, the next step would be to go through the articles from the Oldest Pages list. We'll have to clean them up one at a time. Chadlupkes
- As for name space, I also share your pain. How do you name current-event articles in a manner that is intuitive but does not intrude into other name spaces or seem silly a bit of time down the road? A current events encyclopedia is not out of the question, but the rules have to be quite different. I return to my idea of portal articles. --Allamakee Democrat 21:58, 11 July 2006 (PDT)
A's are complete. The ones left over are protected articles that I can't edit. Chadlupkes 13:10, 16 July 2006 (PDT)
