  • Incumbent: Leonard Boswell (D)
  • Challengers:
  • This is the most interesting of the five races. In the Republican primary, establishment candidate Jim Gibbons faces popular wingnut Brad Zaun. Gibbons was once a well-known wrestler, but he has been out of the public eye for twenty years. Meanwhile, Zaun is fresh off an upset victory in the last State Senate election.
  • Primary Results:
    • Zaun beat Gibbons by 42-28%. One of the biggest surprises of the night was that he avoided a runoff by clearing the 35% hurdle.
