Travis W. Childers

Travis W. Childers is the Democratic congressman from Mississippi's first district. He was first elected to Congress in a 2008 special election. He has been elected to five terms as Prentiss county chancery clerk.
Childers father died when he was 16, and he worked nights to help support his family, and to put himself through college. Childers owns a real estate business and a nursing home.
Travis has been married for 27 years to the former Tami Gibson, and the couple has two children. They all are members of East Booneville Baptist Church .
