Barbara Bush
George W's mother, and one of his daughters. How should they be disambiguated?
George H. W. Bush
There is confusion about the Bush pere's proper tag. The Tag:cleanup_jobs page, in the "bush tags" section, has a space between the two initials; that is proper from a grammatical point of view, and it's also more common (80 to 46) than the George H.W. Bush listed in the Bush Family section. I also corrected a listing of George H.W.Bush to George H. W. Bush on the Tag:editor_portal page in the "Names - People and Organizations" section. I think we should change the Bush Family page to reflect this, but as this is my first night in the Wiki, I don't want to upset common practice.
Regardless, this will need standardization so all three sections of the Wiki are consistent with each other, and Bush 41 has a single tag. (~sardonyx, 12/12/06)
- Done, but there's nothing wrong with doing it yourself. How about adding something on the main tag editing page to the effect that double initials require a space... -- Centerfielder 13:11, 12 December 2006 (PST)
- Thanks. I'm learning my way around wikis, and trying not to do damage as I do so. I think I added a mention of this on one of the pages (maybe Tag:editor_portal?), phrasing the rule as having always to put a period and space after an initial: this covers, single, double, and even triple-and-above initials. I'll go back in a bit to make sure it's in a more general place. I also changed the H. W. in the list of baddies to H.W. -- Sardonyx 01:26, 13 December 2006 (EST)
