Pat Tillman born on November 6, 1976 played in the NFL. After 9/11 he left football and enlisted in the Army to help hunt down Osama.
A 2005 edition of the San Francisco Chronicle newspaper reported that Tillman felt the Iraq war was illegal.
In 2007 the Associated Press obtained military records through the FOIA, stating that "Army medical examiners were suspicious about the close proximity of the three bullet holes in Pat Tillman's forehead and tried without success to get authorities to investigate whether the former NFL player's death amounted to a crime". Because of the proximity of the three wounds, the doctors said it appeared as though Tillman was shot by an M-16 from approximately 10 yards away.
Around this time George W Bush invoked executive privilege in the Tillman case and refused to turn over all the information they have on his death claiming "executive branch confidentiality interests".
