Omar Faruk is the founder of BlueStream, a company that offers various technology solutions, and the Founder/President of The Action Network a non-profit organization that collaborates with other entities to mobilize people from New York City communities to volunteer by providing overproduced products as incentives.

Omar one of ten children, immigrated to the United States in 1997 with his family knowing no English. Growing up he was faced with near poverty which encouraged him to be involved into entrepreneurship . Omar started his first company at age 14.

Omar at 17 (currently 18) is the youngest winner of the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. He is also the winner of the 2006 National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award, the Bank of America Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and various other awards for outstanding community service. “With flexibility, grace and diligence, Omar has demonstrated that he has all the right stuff to be successful in business and in life.” Alan Patricof a partner at APEX Partners said of him during the E&Y Awards.
