Millard Fillmore

Vice President, Millard Fillmore, a Whig and the 13th President, followed President Zachary Taylor who died in office, with an equally unexceptional remainder of Taylor's term after making attempts to compromise on the issue of slavery which satisfied no one. His main accomplishment was to convince people that a new political party was needed, which gave rise to the Republican Party.

Most surveys place Fillmore amongst America's worst Presidents.
