Lorraine Inouye, born and raised on the Big Island, Inouye is a member of the Democratic Party, was first elected to the Hawaii State Senate of the Hawaii State Legislature in 1998, representing the 1st Senatorial District on the island of Hawaii. The 1st District includes Hamakua and South Hilo.
