List of candidates promoting election integrity

The following candidates for state office have significantly promoted election integrity, and criticized threats against it, in their campaign platform, legislation, and/or litigation. In particular, they:

  • acknowledge the problems (identified by the GAO and others) raised by direct recording electronic (DRE) voting machines, especially those that do not provide a paper ballot, and
  • discuss what they plan to do to address these problems.

  • Vincent Fort, GA (D) (39th District) (sponsored legislation mandating paper audit trail for electronic voting machines, received Defender of Democracy award for his efforts)
  • David Shafer, GA (R) (48th District) (co-sponsored legislation mandating paper audit trail for electronic voting machines, received Defender of Democracy award for his efforts, backed Karen Handel for Secretary of State)
  • Jon Eich, PA (D) (34th District) (key figure in attempt to stop Centre County, PA from purchasing DREs)
