Elitism for Everybody (discussed by Neil Postman in his book "Amusing Ourselves to Death")
Postman basically says that we can distill the best of all cultures and celebrate this, but be inclusive about it and enthusiastic that others should join us in our celebration of what is great (books, music, etc).
So basically it's elitism without the exclusivity, focusing on a sophistication in taste
Counterargument: Who are the real Elites? People of a different culture/ethnicity, or people with massive wealth and power?
