Biography

Born September 9, 1942 in Deer River, Minnesota. After graduating from the University of Minnesota and serving in the US Air Force from 1967-1969, John and his wife moved to Georgia. John Linder is a former dentist and businessman who, after 14 years in the Georgia General Assembly, was elected to represent the 7th district in 1992. He's the longest-serving Republican in the Congressional delegation and serves on some of the most powerful committees in the House. From 1996-1998 he was Chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee.
