Notes

Son of former Assemblyman John Flanagan (1972-86).

"Republican state senators' individual campaign funds are helping pay Guy Velella's legal defense, Manhattan prosecutors said yesterday as they scrutinized the indicted lawmaker's political coffers. In a pretrial hearing in the bribery case against Velella, prosecutors said 20 senators have donated $147,500 to the Bronx Republican, who has been using his campaign to pay his attorney fees and those of several current and former staff members. Among the individual donors are Majority Leader Joseph Bruno (R-Brunswick) and Sens. Michael Balboni (R-East Williston), Owen Johnson (R-West Babylon), John Flanagan (R-East Northport), Kenneth LaValle (R-Port Jefferson), Carl Marcellino (R-Syosset), Frank Padavan (R-Jamaica Estates) and Caesar Trunzo (R-Brentwood)."
