Hōkūle'a is a double-hulled, full-scale replica of a wooden sailing vessel used in ancient Hawaii. Built by the Polynesian Voyaging Society, its 1976 voyage from Hawaii to Tahiti, as have subsequent voyages, was completed by means of ancient polynesian navigational tools.

The Hokule'a brought a revival of the ancient art of navigating by stars, waves and birds, and became a tremendous source of pride all over the islands of the Pacific.
