Gaza

Gaza is a thin strip of land between Israel and Egypt with more than a million residents, mostly Palestinians. It was captured by Israel from Egypt in a 1967 war and remains controlled by Israel. There are very few Israeli Settlements in Gaza, and Ariel Sharon the current Likud Party prime minister of Israel has proposed removing all Israeli settlements from Gaza, but has faced opposition from his own party to the plan.
