Ed Fallon was a Democratic Representative in the Iowa State Legislature, where he served seven two-year terms. He was one of the legislature's most progressive members, and was the Executive Director of 1000 Friends of Iowa. He was an early supporter of John Edwards for President in 2008, and recently co-founded An Independence Movement for Iowa (I'M for Iowa).
In 2006, he ran for Governor of Iowa. Although he lost the primary, he won Polk County (Des Moines) and seven other counties, and got 26% statewide. He quickly endorsed the winner, Chet Culver, and told his supporters not to write-in his name in November.
In 2000, he supported Ralph Nader for President.
Ed Fallon has two adult children and is divorced.
