Eco-terrorism
From dKosopedia
Eco-terrorism is an empty category. While governments have often waged ecological warfare the non-governmental groups waging what governments call eco-terrorism neither kill nor terrorize anyone. The phrase is nothing more than an Orwellian construction designed to demonize environmental activists.
For example, the Japan Fisheries Agency labeled Greenpeace ships as "anti-whaling vessels" and members of Greenpeace as "environmental terrorists."
Kenn Kassman describes the sabotage often labeled by authorities as eco-terrorism as "covert active ecological resistance." With its "roots in anti-inustrial sabotage in nineteenth century Europe" it includes the spiking of trees with metal or ceramic nails and the destruction of road building and logging equipment to prevent the destruction of natural forests.
