Contenders' Registry

This area is designated for liberal/progressives to enter standardized information about their campaigns. There are two sections: one for Senate races and one for House races.

Candidates: Put your name in the appropriate section using five equal signs on each side. Add a brief statement why liberals/progressives should be interested in your candidacy. Embed a link to your website in the text. Once you have added your section, save the page and click on the link to your name in the table of contents. Copy the URL from your browser to the Senate or House 2008 elections framework. (The links to those pages are at the bottom.) This will allow people to find your section directly when they look up that race.

Ron Shepston

See CA-42: Hi, I'm Ron Shepston and I'm running for Congress.

"I'm running because Congress has let the President stomp on the Constitution, balloon the deficit, and get us stuck in a misbegotten war. Gary Miller seems to see his position in Congress mostly as a way to make money for his friends. I swore an oath to defend the Constitution when I was in the Air Force during Viet Nam (1966-1970), and that's why I'm going to run. I'm going to swear another oath to defend the Constitution as a Congressman. I didn't see combat then but that doesn't stop me from fighting now and when I get to Congress."

Terri Bonoff

Serving the people in the Minnesota State Senate has been a tremendous honor. My work at the State Capitol has taught me that our elected officials must do more, not only for Minnesota, but the country.

We must begin to restore our leadership role in the world through engaging in active diplomacy and ending the war in Iraq. We must insure our country’s economic strength by making certain that every child comes to school ready to learn and graduates high school ready to contribute. We must make certain every citizen of our country has access to quality, affordable health care. We must address the reality of global warming and we must make certain our transportation system is safe and meeting the needs of tomorrow. All this is possible when we elect leaders who lead rather than react. Help me bring our Minnesota vision of excellence to Washington.

I am glad that you have come to dKosopedia to find out more about my campaign. Please visit my website to learn more about me.

Thank you very much,

Terri

Jeremy Brunton

Dear friends:

I am proud to announce my intentions to challenge for the seat held by Rep. John Mchugh. My name is Jeremy Brunton, I am 26 years old from Churubusco, New York. I have a love for the political process and I believe that the winds of change are going to start to blow in District 23 because as we know Mr. Mchugh has never seriously been challenged for his seat. I hope with your support to change that. Mr. Mchugh has cozied up to President Bush, and it's time to tell him that the American people are fed-up with business as usual in Washington. I know the first thing that Mr. Mchugh will say is you have no political experience. We to that I say life experience is much better. I grew up by just getting by. As I grew endured heartache and tragedy. I have been the person having to go to social services and ask them for help and have them tell me no. I have been the one that saw his daughter go through numerous surgery's since she was born and I do thank god for Medicaid without it I would be up to my ears in debt. With these life experiences I believe I can go to Washington and promote change and unity. Make sure that Medicaid and Social Security are safe. I want to make sure our borders are safe from intruders. The farmers in my district can count on me to bring home funds to make sure they can stay afloat. In closing I accept the challenge to run a clean and fun campaign and bring new leadership to the north country.

Eric Massa

Eric is willing to debate Bill O'Reilly. This doesn't make him much different from the rest of us, but he's running for Congress and he's willing to debate Bill O'Reilly, so maybe he deserves our support. His website is at Massa for Congress.
