Bob Vander Plaats
From dKosopedia
Bob Vander Plaats is an Iowa Republican, who ran for Lt. Governor in 2006, but lost to Patty Judge. He withdrew from the Republican primary for Governor in February of 2006, and endorsed Jim Nussle.
He has worked as a high school principal, and was a candidate for the 2002 Republican nomination for Governor.
Bob Vander Plaats is married to his high school sweetheart, Darla, and they have four sons, one of whom has a rare and serious brain disorder.
Vander Plaats subtly threatened Jim Nussle with a primary campaign that mostly dealt with Nussle's adultery-drenched divorce. It may be inferred that Nussle nodded to Vander Plaats to keep this active topic in the 2006 Iowa Governor's race from becoming flaming.
