Arthur M. Melzer - Michigan State University; undergraduate student of Bloom at Cornell (1971), Ph.D. with Mansfield (1978). Also studied with Judith Shklar and Werner Dannhauser. Author of The Natural Goodness of Man: On the System of Rousseau's Thought and coeditor with Weinberger and Zinman of The Problem of Technology in the Western Tradition. Currently doing work on Rousseau as the root of the modern radical tradition and on Aristotle as the source of Western moral thought.
