Verified Voting Accountability project

From dKosopedia

I propose that we, the dKos community, start a project to push for sweeping verified voting legislation.

We should do this by utilizing the same tactics as moveon's virtual protest, that happened on the original ramp up to the Iraq war.

Those that participated will remember that people would sign up and resolve to call their Congressperson and Senator on the day of the protest in a show of solidarity and to vocalize opposition.

Obviously it didn't stop the war, but it was noticed.

We need to do the same thing with verified voting and put pressure on every Senator and Representative to pass the Count Every Vote Act.

We can one up it by sending letters to the editor as well.

THIS IS A WINNING ISSUE. Democrats have taken the lead on this and there is no argument against it, we just have to frame our argument in the language of reason and order rather then fraud and hysteria.

How will we do this and when will we schedule it? Can anybody think of a good name for this project?

Note: Verified Voting (capitalized) is the name of an organization, so another name might be better. AlanF 14:18, 28 September 2006 (PDT)
