--therightlies: I think we need to put together a "how-to" use Daily Kos category where we can explain coding/tagging/diary practices etc. for the less technically inclined. patrioticliberal 19:11, 30 Dec 2005 (PDT) please see Tags

--SarahLee We need a Category Special pages and it should be linked on the left side - people need to find it easily so the same category entries are made for like informaton

--Centerfielder 17:12, 28 Apr 2004 (PDT) Change state government pages to "State" instead of "Stategov:state" Done Centerfielder 19:33, 29 Apr 2004 (PDT)

--wegerje 07:42, 29 Apr 2004 (PDT) Consider different Main_Page layouts and designs like this version by wegerje. I vote for a more Google like simplicity for the first Main Page. Most people will eventually bookmark the specific pages they like anyway.

-- JohnLocke 09:13, 29 May 2004 (PDT) I think we should eventually have pages for every represenative, senator, govenor, and cabinet member. Perhaps we should have a "List of current government officals" page that users can use as a portal?

-- Kilroy 12:30, 29 May 2004 (PDT) We need to add a category of Civil Rights to the Butter section of the site. Things like explanations of Title IX, Civil Rights Act of '64, Voting Rights Act, etc. Done. Centerfielder 17:33, 29 May 2004 (PDT)

-- Atty.at Arms 11:26, 29 May (PDT) We need to change the main page link from Supreme Court to Judicial Branch. The Supreme Court isn't the only part of the judicial branch, and, as I've pointed out on the Judicial branch page, sometimes the Circuit Cts. are more important. but, I don't have access to edit the main page.

--Pyrrho 07:46, 30 May 2004 (PDT) you should discuss this at talk:Main Page we want to have a some discussion and consensus about main page changes....

-- Atty.at Arms 12:54, 30 May (PDT) A page describing different political ideologies eg. liberal fascist communist new democrat yadda yadda. Agreed. Lestatdelc 01:11, 30 May 2004 (PDT)

MORE STUFF TO DO

-Kilroy 15:23, 30 May 2004 (PDT) On main page, move Abortion to Gender Rights under Human Rights. Abortion seems to be a subset of the Right to Privacy.

--Sheba 14:42, 1 Jun 2004 (PDT) How about a reference section describing different forms of government, e.g. parliamentary democracy, etc.?

--Laddy 09:19, 2 Jun 2004 (PDT)As a reference on the house pages. Currently Arizona 2 is listed as Arizona in brackets which goes to the Arizona background page, with no reference to Arizona's 2nd district. If we can change that so that we junkies can dump NCEC, Democratic performance, Voter Registration numbers, Bush/Gore, past elections... etc. into each district it would make for a really awesome reference, since it's really hard to compile those numbers in one place without an expensive subscription. Big project, but we could definitely do it over time.

--educated foo: 6/7/04: Links between interest groups, think tanks, and major party organs (e.g. "PPI is an outgrowth of the DLC"); relatively unbiased characterizations of their ideologies; links between "opinion makers" and their supporting interest groups. Some of these are already on here (e.g. DLC), but it would be nice to make this information available in a structured way, making it possible to quickly decide which way they are being spun.

--educated foo 7/4/04: This already exists for the right wing (plus DLC, PPI) at Rightweb (http://rightweb.irc-online.org/index.php ). Any suggestions on where to link this into dKosopedia? I'm thinking add a category "Political Parties -- affiliated groups".

Wiki Tools

Online Database: ability for everyone to manage a data in a database table that can be dumped onto a wiki page. this feature would have been helpful for 2004 Media Endorsements, for example. --Drh 09:16, 26 Oct 2004 (PDT)

Wiki Bots

Voting

-Pyrrho 04:10, 3 Jun 2004 (PDT) I'd like to write a bot capable of tallying votes on "vote:" pages and reposting the tally to the vote page. Hey... I saw a python framework for wiki bots and now I can't find it on the mediawiki site... anyone know anything about this?
