John Hickenlooper

From dKosopedia

John W. Hickenlooper is the popular Democratic Mayor of Denver, Colorado. First elected in 2003, and reelected in 2007, Hickenlooper's signature accomplishment to date has been leading the successful campaign to pass FasTracks, an initiative to complete the Denver metropolitan area's extensive light rail transit system. Denver has one of America's largest mass transit systems, with 119 miles of new and extended light-rail and commuter-train lines, all of it paid for through a sales tax levied in the seven-county area around Denver.

Hickenlooper was named one of the Top Five Mayors in America by Time Magazine. He is an extremely popular mayor (approval rating over 90%) and is considered probably the most popular politician in Colorado. Although he has stated he will not be a candidate for governor in 2006, a Draft Hickenlooper movement is trying to get him to enter the race. With good press like this article he is destined for higher office.
