Hawk

From dKosopedia

Hawks are people politically inclined towards the use of military force and substantial defense spending to prepare for it. Often they emphasize the depravity of the enemy or harm caused by inaction relative to the risks and costs attendant in every military operation. In U.S. political discourse, the South has traditionally been the geographic source of many U.S. hawks, both before and after the transition of the South from being safely Democratic in political orientation (the Solid South) to reliably Republican in national elections. Often hawks take the position that negotiations and diplomacy are futile because enemies are incapable of being rational.
