George J. Tenet

From dKosopedia

George John Tenet is the former Director of Central Intelligence at the Central Intelligence Agency who now cools his heel as as a "Distinguished Professor in the Practice of Diplomacy" at Georgetown University. He serves on the Boards of Directors at several defense contractors, including L-1, QinetiQ, Guidance Software and SAIC.

He was blamed by some Republicans for the disastrous conduct of the War in Iraq but it is clear that he is only one of several responsible for the worst foreign policy blunder since the War in Vietnam. He was replaced by his deputy director, John McLaughlin as acting Director.

Appointed as CIA Director by Democratic Pres. Bill Clinton, with whom Tenet developed a poor working relationship, Tenet was kept on by Republican Pres. George W. Bush--perhaps at the urging of former Republican Pres. George Bush Sr.
