Armenia

Armenia is a landlocked country whose neighbors are Republic of Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Iran. The country became independent in 1991 after the Soviet Union collapsed.

Armenia fought a war with Azerbaijan in the 1990s over the Nagorno-Karabash region. Roughly 100 years ago, Turkey massacred over a million Armenians in the twentieth century's first genocide.
